That's where he is from and where KISS formed. Nowadays it seems him & Gene live in the Los Angeles area. Peter Criss live in NJ in monmouth county. I believe Ace still lives in Sharon, CT.

I think that Kiss left for California in the late 70s. They just felt like they needed to be closer to the major recording labels, and felt like they needed a change from the grind of New York and wanted a more laid-back place. And if you are a long-time fan of Kiss, they probably wanted to be closer to all the bikini clad babes in Southern Cal. Ace and Peter left KISS, though they did return briefly, but it looks like Gene and Paul liked Southern Cal and chose to stay. Still, it is kind of cool, that Ace and Peter stayed close to their roots. I still think of KISS as a New York band though, you can take KISS out of New York, but you can't take New York out of KISS!!
