I usually avoid Wal-Mart when I can, but right now they're the only store near me that sells kites, so I bought three of them on Saturday. Just now on one of my message boards, I saw a thread reminding me of Wal-Mart's questionable practices, so I feel bad for buying my kites there. Should I feel bad?

the fact that you're concious about avoiding wal-mart at all is a positive thing. i wouldn't worry about something that's already done. if you've been feeling bad about it, it's obviously more of a reason to not buy there in the future. maybe next time you could make some kites!

Only if you feel bad about putting other Americans out of work. Walmart specializes in buying the cheapest brands of everything and that usually means that its made overseas. Generally in sweatshops where the workers are always underage and working for around a quarter a day.
Keep in mind, that while this may not be the case with every items that Walmart sells, a majority of their inventory is made outside this country. Consequently, the more foreign goods you buy, the less Americans goods you buy. That puts American workers out of work. When they are out of work, even they won't be able to afford to shop at walmart to perpetuate their unemployment.
But understand that Walmart isn't the only big box retailer that does this. Target, Kmart, Sears, and several clothing stores also buy foreign goods. Walmart just happens to be the biggest and they screw their employees more than most companies.

i've got no longer observed those issues to be actual, yet now which you point out them, i'd could consider maximum of them. I save at Walmart only because of the fact that is greater cheap than purpose and those are the only 2 branch shops around right here. I additionally like the crafts branch and that i admire which you additionally can get groceries there. yet particular, that is actual that the staff prefer to forget approximately approximately you and in case you do get their interest, they the two do no longer know what to assist you to recognize or they element you in the incorrect direction and you wind up working everywhere in the shop asking all people for help and no person facilitates they only save telling you to examine someplace else. I hate that. i've got additionally observed them being out of inventory on particular issues on a nicely-known foundation, which i do no longer comprehend. i've got observed the look into ingredient, too. Why are the self provider ones closed or working so sluggish? nicely, regardless of. only handle it, i assume. What different decision is there? i could purchase particular issues (a number of which they do no longer even have at purpose), so which you gotta do what you gotta do. i like to get a protracted checklist of issues in the past going so i do no longer could bypass as usually.

If you have your doubts you should follow your gut feelings. I shop at Wal Mart for commodity items only. I then goe to other upscale stores for items that I consider a higher quality. I feel the upscale stores treat their employees better and this give me a good feeling of good will towards others. This in turn makes me feel better about myself.

I avoid it when at all possible. Every now and then I go in when I cannot find something anywhere else. I agree that they do not treat their people real well and also have taken tons of jobs away from small mom and pop joints.

If you didnt shop at places that did some bad practices in business you would never be able to buy anything, I would guess all companies have some skeletons in their closets so dont worry about it.

Don't feel bad about it. But if it means a lot to you about their bad practices (me too, my mom works there!) then try not to go there anymore. Just don't beat yourself up about. There are bigger fish to fry in the world.

Millions of other people shop there too, so don't feel bad. Whether you shop there or not really isn't gonna make a difference.
