Crisis intervention is a procedure used by many professions: mental health, physical health, DCFS, the police, financial advisors, etc.
Generally, a crisis is when most people have reached the end of their rope and reach out for help. They are no longer able to function normally.
CV reaches in to 1) stop the immediate crisis, 2) place systems in place to remediate the middle steps of the crisis, 3) develop plans to resolve the problems that created the crisis and 4) follow-up to provide support and guidance during the 'repair' phase.

Its when a problem is ocurring with someone and it is getting worse, before it goes to the point where there is no remedy, others find it in there heart to intervene, be a part of or get in the middle to help or get a plan that will help.
