Group of guys 23-28 lookin for a hotel mid strip with a great pool. Don't need a spa or any of the pampering amenities. Close to the hot bars and clubs. Minimum families and older crowds.

The Palms is a nice place but it's not on the strip, it's a mile west of the strip on Flamingo...The LV Hilton is on Paradise...

If you want middle strip "&" a great pool for a reasonable price, the Mirage and Flamingo are the two best choices. Paris would be slightly down the list because of your stated preference for a "great pool".

If money is no object then Caesars Palace and Bellagio are both awesome five star hotels with hot nightclubs and great pools. The Venetian is a great hotel but it's not "mid" strip, it's located on the northern edge of the central hotel cluster. Wynn is considerable north of the Venetian.

I would either stay at Mandalay Bay (or The Hotel at Mandalay) for the great pool, or The Palms for the party atmosphere. Neither are centrally located - Mandalay is at the end of the Strip, and The Palms is about a block off the Strip, but both are HOT places and would suit your needs. (Both have hot clubs on site.) And it's a short cab ride or decent walk to any other place you want to go. (Body English @ the Hard Rock would probably be the farthest away, and it's not that expensive to cab it.)

The best pool is probably the Mirage, Mandalay Bay, or Monte Carlo. With the best pool also comes little kids. I will suggest the Mirage as its in the middle of everything, has a great pool with waterfalls, and is an all around awesome hotel.

The Hard Rock is not right on the strip but its pretty close. The pool has a bar and you can play poker in it. Its right by a lot of clubs and is for your age group.

If you want a centrally located hotel on the strip, and don't want to spend a ton, check out Bally's. I've stayed there and it's pretty nice. Not glamorous though....but hey, how much time are you really going to be spending in the hotel?
