Can you see oil on the ground under the car?
If not and you have coolant. Yes it is a sign of a cracked block and also could be a blown head gasket. Go to a mechanic and have a cylinder pressure test done on the engine.

Have the system pressure tested for coolant leaks. It might be that you have a blown head gasket which is common with overheating problems. Hope the thermostat is new. If the old thermostat is stuck shut it can cause the engine to run hot and turn on lights. If you keep driving it hot you most definitely will break something.

Usually when the block is cracked your car will have a hard time starting up.....and when it does, it'll die soon after. The only way to tell if it is cracked is by tracing oil trails/spills.
Check the code on your control unit to see what it's reading as a default. Good luck.

You need to see if there is water/coolant in the oil. The best way to do this is to change the oil. If the oil comes out gray, you have a cracked block.
You may be able to check this with the dip stick.

all tho water in the oil is one sign of a cracked block, but water in the oil, can also come from blown head gasket, leaky intake. if water/oil is not seeping from anywhere on the block, where there is not a fitting ect. its hard to tell if the block is truely cracked, with out tearing it completely apart, an crack testing it. sry not so simply to know truely if it is cracked or not.

more then likely you've got a blown head gasket, if the block was cracked you'd of heard it, and if it cracked you'll yes notice a different color in oil and it will make all sorts of loud noises, unless it's minor then you'll notice and oil leak when your in park for over night or a radiator fluid...
