because 355 ÷ 113 is a 99.9999999% accurate approximation of pi.

355 ÷ 113 =

3.1415929203

pi = 3.1415926535

The difference = 0.0000002668

Because they were trying to serve their guests some tasty Pi. Of course, like all rational people, they decided to use an approximation instead of the real thing.
