Friday night my Uncle commit suicide in the psyche ward of a local hospital.
My grandma has been in the hospital for the last few weeks because of 3 major surgeries and the doctors don't think she should know untill shes healing better.
To the Point ;
My uncle has a wife but has been seperated from her for the last 2 years and hasn't even seen there son in the last year and a half.
Today she announced that shes going to have the body picked up tomorrow and immediately cremated with no funeral services.
My grandma has not seen the body so she hasn't had the chance to make peace with her son.
We called the morge and put the body on hold because we may need to be taking some legal action against the stupid floozey known as his wife.
Can any one tell me what possible things we may need to gather to stop her from doing this?
My grandmother may go into a nervous break down and the entire family hasn't yet had time to make peace, The funeral could help some people with easing the pain

Unfortunately the law dictates that a spouse has the legal right to take possession of the deceased's body & make the appropriate arrangements. The only surefire way to easily overturn that is w a will dictating the deceaseds wishes in this regard.

You might have a family member appeal to his wife to consider a brief delay to accomodate your uncle's mother. Short of her agreeing to this, it is likely an attorney will need to be involved.

Don't delay......sometimes these processes move very quickly.

God Bless you & your family. Know that your uncle is at peace now & is w the lord.
