I have a female border collie mix that has a solid black coat so I named it Keesha. Is that funny or what?

Why would it be funny? It's a common name for dogs, as well as for humans of any race. It is a derivative of the Russian word for "innocent."

I knew you were referring to the humor of having a black dog with an African-American name, but my point is that there are more origins of the name Keesha than African (which is usually spelled Keisha), and that it is a popular dog name, not at all unusual or funny. It's also a common name for Siberian huskies.

I think it's cute. Keesha is a great dog name.

I used to have a black cat named Toby...he got killed in a scratch by scratching!
