Yes is your fault because you got intoxicated in first place, everything happened because you started it.

First off, please don't listen to the teetotalers that seem to think being intoxicated, or god forbid we say Drunk, is a bad thing.

Secondly, if it was the police that made you go you can get out of it even with only using the Public Defender. If the EMT's were there, it will be much harder because when you have been drinking you have what we call an ALOC (altered level of consciousness) and at that point you don't always have the capability to make proper fact based decisions. It's a minor loophole, but the law is for good reason.

Sorry for your bad luck.

yea sweety you have to pay... the same thing happened to me here in blacksburg Va. GO HOKIES.. and even though I refused to let them take me the next thing I know is that I was strapped in an ambulance and going to the hospital. However after fighting the fact that I shouldn't have to pay I was told that if I didn't go to the hospital that I woulda prolly died. Also they took the charges for the ambulance and stuff off my bll and it ended up just being a little over a thousand dollars. However if you dont pay then all that will happen is collections people will start calling and eventually you will have to go to court over it all and te judge will make you set up a payment plan to pay off the hospital. No big deal really But remember that willingly or not they ay have saved your life.

...By the way after reading some of Joterpr or whatevers answers I have decided that he is an @$$ hole who really just likes being a prick to other people...

did you sign any paper work? did you consent to financial responsibility of the treatment? if you did, then yes, other wise they'll report you to a collections agency.... but if you didn't and the bill is under $1000.00 and you don't have alot of savings or assests... then they are pretty much out of the money. if you were booked and put in jail overnight- the judge might order you to pay restitution to the hospital you were treated in- and then your pretty much forced to pay.

Yes you will have to pay. Now, If you get a lawyer and he proves you weren't on your death bed and didn't need to go then you will not have to pay. But!!! You will have to pay a lawyer and no matter what I say or what you do "YOU" will be messed over. Sorry about your bad day.

sucks but yes.
Try to contact the billing department. Most hospitals have a program to reduce the cost of the bill.

Yea, you probably didn't help your case any by ignoring the police who told you not to walk away...especially if you really were intoxicated.

Do not pay. Never give an inch.

Get used to the handcuffs.

Pay the bill.
And learn that there are consequences for your actions.
