Can someone please help me, without getting me fired? I work at a gas station, and i'm the only guy working here. There are 5 other women. . . The new schedule was made out today, and i don't have a day off until next Tuesday; which means i have to work 8 straight days without a day off. I'm shouldn't have to do that. Noone else has to. What can i do?

You all may think it's funny, but i don't. I'm tired of this crap. I'm the only guy working at this place, and i'm being taken advantage of. I just got done filing a complaint of the better business bureau. If they fire me, then they will get sued.

It could be an oversight on your boss's part. I used to be an HR manager for a retail store, and I accidentally scheduled someone 8 days in a row. It was all in how the days off worked out.

Maybe mention this to your boss that you're not sure if he/she is aware that you are scheduled to work 9 days in a row, and ask if there is anything that can be done to remedy that situation?

If the boss says no, I would go ahead and work my schedule, but maybe start looking for another job.

Unfortunately you are in an industry that has a "fluid" ever changing schedule. I don't think having 8 days in a row has to do with the fact you are the only person on the schedule with a set of XY chromosomes vs XX chromosomes.

Your schedule probably has two days off next week, and Sunday and today (Monday) were your two days off for this week. This is the reality of where you are working, and I am sure one of your co-workers has had to do this in the past as well.

What you can do, is see if you can trade a shift. If you can't, put up and shut up or go look for a new job. But any position outside of regular office work is likely to be shift work, meaning you will have wacky schedules for the most part.

Call your State's Labor Board. By law you are entitled to a day off after 6 or 7 days in a row.

Keep telling the boss thank you (especially if you are over 40 hours) and let her know you love the OT. Otherwise just keep saying gosh I cant believe how Janie our boss keeps giving me the extra shifts. I am really adding up the extra income.
Before yo know it mary will think itis unfair you get the extra shift all the time and she wills ay, we shoudl rotate this.....

if all else fails look for a new job, but dont whine, they are your reference.

or.....work work work, save save save, and get ahead ahead ahead...for a change....

Good Luck
