I think that the UN should be dissolved, I think that the United States should say get your butt out of here and reform in a neutral nation like Switzerland. I also think that the United States should with draw altogether. We at this time provide about 80% of all the funding, and yet we don't have but one vote. Each country should have to share the cost equally, some would have you feel that we are so rich and the others are so poor,...horse applies. They can find a way for the leadership to live in super opulence. Further more when ever one of these people do some thing wrong in this country the very first words out of their mouths is diplomatic Immunity. When i entered the military I took an oath of allegiance to the United States of America but I could be assigned to the UN and no longer give my allegiance to this country, horse crap. The UN could tell me that I had to bear arms against the United States. I don't think so, let's send them packing

You write nothing in your about me section so...
The short answer is no reformation. It could, however, go "over the road" and live in Pakistan for a year then Indonesia, then Botswana, then Japan, then Columbia, then ... well, you get my idea. We, the US of A, pay most of the bills to keep them up and running and that includes their parking violations we "common" citizens would have to pay or go to jail over. They have immunity. Just like on the Survivor show! They didn't have to compete for the privilege in the same way but they "won" it anyway. As far as the UN's effectiveness, all I can say is you must be very young. To me the UN stands for Unconditionally Nothing! The ppl working in the decision portion of the UN remind me of the old Chicago days of Al Capone and the gangs. Instead of Tommy-guns, these guys carry Blackberries and laptops. But they provide the same service. It's the same old car it just has a new paint job. They should do the world a favor and leave America.

*snorts* EFFECTIVENESS?! Forgive me for asking, but just what rock have you been hiding under for the last sixty years? The UN has never been anything more than a rights-violating, individuality-suppressing, ineffective money hole. The only reform I can think of that would do anything to benefit the world would be one that entirely dissolves it and prevents anything of the sort from being formed ever again. Remember George Washington and his warnings against entangling alliances with other nations? We can trade with them, but that's it. Any politics with any other countries opens the door to crazy ideas seeping into our own country; the UN has succeeded quite marvelously at this over the course of its existence, at the expense of this entire country, I fear.

The United Nations should be reformed so that they stay relevant to the current situation.
But it's important to make the distinction that we shouldn't reform them simply if it seems that the United Nations are not fulfilling our wants.
