My 2 month old baby is not getting satisfied from her formula. She is always wanting a bottle. I only give her 4 ounces at a time. Is that the right amount? She cries until she gets another bottle then she is fine for a little bit and ready to eat again. I don't get any rest at night from her wanting to eat all the time. Any one have any ideas on what I can do.

Thanks everyone for there answer but can I start breast feeding at 2 months. Not sure if i would still have milk. My doctor doesnt like for them to be fed more than 4 ounces at a time but I will try going up to 6 and see if that helps and maybe try breast feeding if still possible

try to breast feed her, as this might satisfy her or you can ask the doctor...

The only thing that they can have at that age, is formula or breastmilk. Cereals are too hard on there digestive tracts until around 4 months. What I think you should do is make bigger bottles and try that. At 2 months my son was on 4 ozs every 3-4 hrs sometimes ever 2-3 hrs. Also at 2 months they hit a growth spurt and that could be the reason why she is eating do much. Just try making bigger bottles and see if that works. If not ask your dr on his opinion on MAYBE starting a little bit of cereal. Good Luck!

I just want to add that babies CAN NOT over eat. They stop when they are full.

My daughter was like that too, I fed her as much as she wanted when she was hungry, and I ended up taking her to the hospital with colic from feeding her too much. Her dr said to give her one ounce plus how many months old she is, so your baby is 2 months old, i would say about 3 ounces at a time, but give it to her every hour and a half or two hours. She will eat more frequently, so she will be less hungry. Baby's stomachs are only about the size of their fist, so you don't want to overfeed her, she'll have a bad stomach ache, and you'll have a fussy baby. I tried cereal with my daughter as well, she didn't tolerate it well, but I know quite a few people who have tried it, and it worked. Every baby is different, so just try both and see what works best for your daughter. Good Luck!

My first child ate religously around the clock every 2 hours for the first 3 months!!! I was so exhausted, but it's normal. You might want to feed your baby til she's full and then give her a pacifier if she seems to get hungry a short time later. Sometimes babies just need the sucking time and aren't really hungry. Sucking is a very strong instinct for them, it brings them comfort, excercise, and food. So many babies need additional time sucking time especially if they are bottle fed since they do not have to work as hard as if they were feeding from the breast.

increase the amount of each feeding,,if she is going through a growth spurt she will want more...try giving her 6 ounces at a time...how often are you feeding her...i wouldnt go longer then 4 hours between feedings during the day and 6 at night

at this age she should NOT be getting any fruit, cereal or other stuff that has been said..at this age just formula or breastmilk..

Give her 6 ounces at a time. You know your child best. If she's hungry feed her, now don't over do it...sometimes they get belly aches and think that food will make them feel better, but I think 6 ounces should be fine. Try it. See what happens. You can always go back to 4 if you want.

Feed her until she is full. She is growing and there isn't a magic number of ounces that she should be fed every time. I can't recommend nursing her enough, if that is possible. Then you won't be watching the little ounces mark on the bottle, and when she's done, you'll know.

If your breasts are still leaking you can breast feed, its your child, not your doctors, if she's hungry feed her. She's a human being not a casserole, if she can take and wants more let her have it. Not every child develops the same, I hate when doctors think everyone should react the same way and be treated the same. However, the advice of not more at one time is good advice, more by more frequently is better.

You should talk with your pediatrician, the formula your using may not be enough for her. Sometimes you have to try a few to get the right one. I don't recommend breast feeding if you think she's eating to frequently and keeping you up to much now. Breast fed babies cluster feed and that is hard on a Mom. That's wanting to eat constantly or it seems like it anyway.
Good Luck

I don't think your giving her enough to eat cause i have a 2 WEEK old and he eats 3 to 4 ouces in one feeding...try giving her more in one feeding. also i started giving my daughter a little bit of baby rice and oatmeal stuff mixed with formula when she was 3-4 months...she was like your daughter, always seemed to be hungry. do not feed her the cereals and formula mixture through the bottle. it causes tooth decay and other things. ask her dr if your not sure about feeding her the cereals yet.

She isent satisified, so when my babies were not sleeping and crying all the time, my mom come over and made them some baby cereal, she used rice cereal by gerber, mixed it with there milk, about 2 oz and give them a
little, it was creamy and warm and then finished off giving them the rest of there milk. They not only stoped crying they were happy and they slept. It was wonderful. Some babies are just hungery. Now I dident give them cereal everytime they had a bottle. I give them cereal in the morning with there bottle and a nice bath and they went off to sleep. Lunch they got there bottle and then before they went to bed at night they got cereal. I dont know if your baby is on a routine, but mine was. You can try it if you want. Most Doctors say not to feed your baby when its that young. Back in ninteen tooty toot we fed our babys cereal and when they were having troubles with there bowels they would get 2 tsp karo in there milk. Things are different today.
