do I have a complaint I suffered emotionally and was thinking I was gonna die soon all weekend
seriously I took all these test to see what was going on with swollen ankles and a murmur the echocardiogram indicated stiffening of the heart, this jerk Dr (internist from the hospital , a famous one in Chicago) never even CALLED to let me know INSTEAD he sent out a letter . I was scared to death all weekend . I called cardiology this a.m. and will be seeing a caridologist now I have complained MIGHTYLY to the hospital and even the cardiology dept could not believe the shallow audacity of this internist

I was really scared, I cried and thought I am only 54 my kids are not even in their 20's yet I cannot leave them. I cannot BELIEVE that a DOCTOR wouild do such a cold uncaring thing and not to call and explain what this diagnosis meant I was an emotional wreck still sort of am

the cadiology dept I called got me in rather quickly I will be seeing a cardiologist this wednesday

the HOSPITAL not the doctor is a rather well known one hi falutin in the gold coast neighborhood of Chicago the doctor is just a doc in the internal medicine clinic

Obviously it could have been handled better, since you were alarmed. Generally, you would be called if it was an immediate problem.

You could have gotten the other kind of call (like my sister-in-law with an aneurysm did)--- "you need to have emergency brain surgery NOW, get over here!"

I'm sure you'll get some yahoo answers from qualified medical personnel. Good luck to you. And relax.

i would put that letter in the same category as the ones the Uni-Bomber used to send out - only this time, it was an emotional explosion.
Obviously, the doctor wasn't thinking clearly - perhaps he was late that day for tee time.
And, yes, of course you have a complaint - give it to them with both barrels!
