Youtube Privacy wont work?

I put my videos on private only where my friends and family can see my vids. It's been a couple of days and my friends try to go to the link of the videos and it keeps on saying "This is a private video. If you have been sent this video, please make sure you accept the sender's friend request." And I am they're friends.
