They get about four inches long when full grown. The pink kissing fish is my favorite! They are light pink, have big eyes, and big lips. They really do kiss! I have had aquariums now for over twenty years. I had a pair that lived 11 years in my 70 gallon tank! the male died first. The female died about 5 weeks later. (Think she might have been heart broken, she would search for him all day, everyday for about 5 days. Then she became kinda depressed and hover in the corner, where they lived. She stopped eating about 3 weeks after he died. Two weeks later she was gone. They were so comical. I miss seeing them in my aquarium. They are quarky fish and do some pretty funny stuff! They have personality, for sure. They kissed all the time. Sometimes she must not have been in the mood because he would kiss her and she would thrash about her head, as if she was disgusted with him. ( reminded me of a kid having a temper tantrum) Then she would swim fast to the other end of the tank, He would follow. She would have an attitude. She would get mad and it looked like she would try to bite him on his lips. He was always a good sport about it! Julie

They are gouramis, but, specifically, anabantoids, to which class bettas also belong. They are most famous in the pale pink, but also come in green and marbled. They are called "kissing" gouramis, or sometimes, balloon kissing gourami because of the way the push out their mouths. They are able to do this because their mandibles are set differently than other types of fish. Kissing gouramis are usually larger than other gouramis; up to 12-15 inches. The kissing isn't really as "sweet" as it appears. It really is a territorial challenge.
