freedom of speech is not a basic universal human right and its not unique to the United States.

There will be no sanctions put on Germany because we're gearing up to do the same thing. Haven't you heard of the Anti-Defamation League? The federal law has been defeated once (maybe twice) but its just a matter of bringing it back up until it finally passes. And it will pass.

The first formal request for freedom of speech in recorded history was made by Sir Thomas More in front of the English Parliament and King Henry VIII on April 18, 1523.
The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948, provides, in Article 19, that:

"Everyone has the right to opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. "
This is a resolution and not binding.
Ernst Zundel was acquitted in Canada. However, in Germany he has been awarded punishment in accordance with the prevailing law there.
Germans themselves are very sensible people.Let us wait and see how they deal with the issue. The best solution is to allow him to leave the country.

Neither. Many countries have freedom of speech but there are also many that do not.
