That is my favorite movie."You want the truth,you can't handle the truth".But in all honesty he is arrested for admitting the truth...He gave the order(code red).Under the UCMJ of military justice he has rights.He was then placed under arrest and taken from the courtroom.Then Kevin Bacons character said"I gotta go arrest Col.Jessop now".Then the Marine salutes the Lieutenant and says"theirs an officer on deck".Which is totally wrong because a Marine NEVER salutes indoors unless he is under arms(wearing a weapon...lawfully).The next thing that would happen would be charging the defendant with the charges being leveled against him(which I am sure Col.Jessup would have taken in stride at that point).Col. Jessup at that point would probably(being under armed Marine guards) told everyone to go %#&# yourself!(sorry for my $#%$ but if you saw the movie then you know!).Then he would have been summarilly courtmarshalled and spent the rest of his Marine career in Levenworth Kansas in hard labor and then recieve a dishonorable discharge from the Marine Corps.
