Because it would cost money and take resources to set it up, which nobody has gotten around to doing yet.

It would take a very big satelite to do so. This cost money. and if this service was provided to everyone, how would little companies like netgear and linksys make money

Why should it? Who is going to pay for it? I pay enough for my wireless that I don't feel too sweetly inclined to allow the moochers a free ride on my broadband signal.
