seek out some sort of a beginning step towards equal rights in your area? I live in a place where if I stand on the roof of my house I can see places where civil unions or same sex marriage is perfectly legitimate. It seems really silly to have a line in the sand tell me that I am somehow less equal because of real estate.

Kid, you may live in MA but shouldn't your responsibility as an American continue to support the freedom of all your nations citizens? Previous citizens of MA thought so and they were very influential in forming a nation unlike that seen before.

Although I'm a straight woman married to a straight man, we both support SSM/civil unions 100%. The powers that be should just do away with the arcane concept of legal marriage for everyone. End of story. Forget the licenses, blood tests, constitutional amendments, etc.

Yep!

The tide is turning towards equality for all. Even straight people, like myself are seeing that we all need to keep making our voices heard so the vocal minority of haters don't keep getting their way.

I am proud to belong to a church that has a large rainbow banner on its tower that reads "CIVIL MARRIAGE IS A CIVIL RIGHT"

I believe that gays and lesbians should be allowed to legally marry. Then, if they have made chosen the wrong partner, the would have to make the same choice as everyone else; either remain legally bound by law to another person who makes them miserable, or experience the pain and expense of divorce!

1)Separation of Church and State... the government isn't so good on the 'separation' part.... and neither is a good portion of our country
2) The Human Rights Campaign is a major player in the battle front of equal rights for LGBTQ folk and not just on marriage

I totally agree it seems like the old childhood sandbox argument
