Is it true that anti-perspirants can cause breast cancer, or is this just an old wives tale? What do you think?

Personally, I think it's a load of hooey. This is an urban legend. I've heard a million times and it occasionally graces my e-mail inbox (to the resulting tune of the DELETE button).

Just to be sure, I checked it out on Snopes.com. If you're not familiar with Snopes, it's an awesome website that investigates the truth behind urban legends to determine whether they are true, false, or undetermined. I was surprised to discover that this one received an "Undetermined" rating! That just means that there's not enough information to determine whether it's true or false. The research contradicts itself and more studies need to be done to determine whether antiperspirants can cause cancer.

Of course, it seems to me that ANYTHING can cause cancer these days, even breathing. :-D

I think what this calls for is prudence. Some people are simply more likely to develop breast cancer than others. Is there a history of breast cancer in your family? Are you at a higher risk of developing breast cancer? Do you do the monthly self-exams? Do you get a mammogram if your doctor says you need one? Simply being careful and vigilant can help catch cancer early, with a higher chance of successfully treating it.

Personally, I wouldn't lose sleep over it, and I don't think using Stink Stoppers will increase your chances of developing breast cancer.

there is not any definitive 'reason' of maximum cancers. There are some chemical ingredients that are wide-unfold to have cancer causing agents in them and that they have got been taken off the marketplace. the government is working on getting chemical businesses to stay away from unintended disposal of maximum cancers inflicting brokers. yet, I had breast maximum cancers, by no potential smoked, yet replaced into around it, I additionally stay staggering on the Ohio River with marketplace all around. This rumor went around for awhile, yet, what are we gonna do? Stink??

absolutely not true! every woman on earth would have breast cancer if it was, and all the anti-perspirant companies would be sued.

Illumina, in your answer to the fast food diets, (and I've just got to get to you on this, re: your health please) you mentioned tingling, numbness, anxiety . . . = definite symptons of MS. Please!, see a Neurologist (look in yellow pages or ask your doctor). I have MS. I wish I'd known earlier. Just check it out. Don't let these symptons linger.
