i've been going really well so far but now this algae stuff has come into the water... and it says i need a special type of fish to get rid of it... where do i get the fish from?

you need level 3 of farming and a master farmer, then you drag the master farmer to the pond where he will find the algae eating fish then he will go and drop it in the ocean you may need to keep doing this about 8 - 10 times as it says you may need more algae eating fish but if you have a few master farmers get them all doing it as it will do it a bit quicker for you then you will have you're never ending supply of fish hope this helps :)

Not sure what the lost children is... I have only played Virtual Villagers A new Home... in order to get the special fish on that version you had to have a master farmer go fishing for it.
