Eli Whitney solved this problem with interchangeable parts into a manufacturing system. Thing that are manufactured with out uniformity or standards is call art.

No. Great companies adapt to the market.

McDonald's sells a Maharaja burger in India. Wal-Marts in China are completely different than in the U.S. Companies that standardize product to it for economies of scale--they would customize if they could afford to.
