King Cake is a Mardi Gras tradition. There is a ceramic (nowadays plastic) baby or a bean cooked into the cake. It's served at a party, and the person to get the baby in their slice throws the next party (at least that's how we learned it). It makes good birthday cake, too!

What is King cake, and why is some guy hoping to get your baby? I know I'm supposed to give you an answer, but I think I need a little bit more insight. I do like cake though. Save me a piece, and I'll eat it on one of my "cheat" days! LOL

Make him get OR, BETTER yet, BAKE what you want, he can buy himself a cupcake of whatever variety he might desire..... Jeez, these all-giving guys give Loving relationships an all NEW LOW! My wife HATES German Chocolate with Coconut frosting... She makes it for me and a smaller cake for her usually strawberry (she is allergic to coconut). On her Birthday, I make two cakes - Both Chocolate this year but NO GERMAN Chocolate with Coconut frosting.
