Congratulations! You'll be seeing little fish in about 3 days. It sounds right now like some of the eggs aren't fertilized - if they were infected with fungus, they'd be fuzzy. The parents will deal with them and "fan" the eggs so they have constant water movement.

If the tank you're asking about putting the new filter on is the one with the cichlids, I'd say wait at this point. Your current filter will already have bacteria on it and they will be removing ammonia and nitrites from the tank. Don't mess things up by changing things now. Wait till the fry are better developed, then use both filters for a few weeks to build bacteria in the new one (while letting the old one still do the job it is) - you may just have to adjust the flow "down" on both tanks.

If it's a separate tank you're putting the filter on, that would be okay, but if it already has fish in it, I'd still run two for a while.

(See, I told you they were breeding sized already!)

don't put the filter in while they have the eggs in there it will disturb them and they wont hatch.
