Depends on Area. Cable Internet Service is provided through your cable company exp. Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cablevision Cable, and many others. As for DSL goes there is DSL EXTreme, Virizion DSL, ATT YAHOO DSL, and AOL DSL there are also a selection of other dial up connectors but I highly recommend anything far from it!

If you are considering this product you should know that DSL service is very sensitive to wire distance from the central office. The DSL providers used to not allow connection if you were too far away. But since they started loosing so much business to cable internet providers, they arbitrarily extended the allowed distance. This can be a real problem if the service turns out to suck and you have a contract forcing you to use the bad service for a year or more. Check with your neighbors who have high speed DSL connections, if their service is poor, you can not expect any better.

Qwest is the company I use, but many cable companies offer high speed internet as well. Depends on where you live, what companies are in the area.

What about Yahoo? I heard its pretty good, but I can't get hi-speed; it would be useless where I live out in the country because our phone company won't get out here until 300 people call and ask for it.

I have high speed internet with Comcast. I'm on the west coast. Don't know where you are, or if they have comcast where you live. I love it! fast, reliable, and fairly reasonable. It does go down occasionally, but not enough to make me ever go to dsl, or gawd forbid...*cough* dial-up! :]

most of the time your neighborhood is limited to what service providers you can use, i can only use at&t who bought out comcast in my location, who bought out qwest, all of who have horrible customer service but why wouldn't they you either take their service or you don't. i have no choice.
