Not enough fiber in the diet -wheat bran, unrefined breakfast cereals, fresh fruits (except bananas), dried fruits, vegetables (except potatoes), grainy breads and legumes.

Not enough liquid - Liquids like water and juice add fluid to the colon and bulk to stools, making movements softer and easier to pass. Recommended daily consumption of liquid is eight, eight-ounce glasses (totaling 64 ounces) per day.
Lack of exercise

Depending on your diet, age and daily activities, regular bowel movements can mean anything from three bowel movements per day to one every three days. If you are experiencing hard, compacted stools that are difficult or painful to pass, the urge to move the bowels (even though you just had a movement), or no bowel movement over three days for adults and four days for children, you may have constipation.

You probably are not getting enough fiber in your diet and perhaps not enough water. Try eating fruit (or vegetables) as a snack instead of chips or other junk food. Eat a whole grain or high fiber cereal for breakfast instead of sugary one. Drink more water and less sodas, particularly sodas with caffeine. (Drink diet soda, or plain water to cut some worthless calories too, which would help with your weight.)

Exercise can also help your bowel movements be more regular. You don't have to play sports or be an athlete (although it wouldn't hurt). Try walking more, or taking up a hobby that requires physical activity. Try Geocaching or paint ball for example. Ride a bike or go for a hike. Volunteer a a local park. Pick something fun to make it interesting for yourself so you are more likely to stick with it.

Don't worry if you don't poop every day. Not everyone does. If you feel bad though, see a doctor.

I use to be the same way, although I don't think it has any correlation to your weight. I would do the following:
Drink plenty of water
Eat things high in fiber (like a potato peel)
Drink Orange Juice
Eat a balanced diet

If you still only #2 every 4 days, then I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with you, If you think there is see a doctor. It is always healthier to #2 once a day or more.

The best thing is that you have taken notice of this happening. That is the 1st step to fixing it. Your digestive system works like a car engine. It needs maintinence and care to run properly.
1st step: Write down what you eat throughout the day, and when you eat it. Remember:Your digestion slows later in the day.
2nd step: you must exercise! Its like throwing logs into a fire, with no fire. Eventually there will be a huge pile of logs. Exercise is CRUCIAL to jumpstarting your digestive system. It also kicks up your metablolism, which regulates how fast or slow your body processes food& nutrients.
3rd step: study up on foods that are good for digestion, and help keep you "regular" (going #2). Start with "ruffage". Ruffage is leafy stuff--lettuce, spinach, veggies. You will be going all the time if you have an apple& salad with every meal.
Grains also help you go. Choose foods high in fiber.

Most of all, dont worry! You are fine. It is perfectly normal to go thru periods of no #2. Just eat ruffage and fiber, and EXERCISE EVERY DAY and you should be good to go.

You need to eat more fruits and veggies and buy something called green foods, it's sold through healthfood stores and on line, look for a cheap one and ask mom to buy it for you. Mix it with juice and it will keep you regular and keep the acid down in your body. This isn't the greatest stuff but, not the worst. Drink it down and know it is helping you a lot. It will keep you cleaned out and strop the back up you are having now. Change your diet...eat several small nutritious meals daily. do not starve. Eat veggies, canned fruit, small amts. of nuts and raisins, yogurt, canned pineapple, manderine oranges, salads, water and no soda....none. water and some juice. Drink water all day long to keep yourself clean and get all the toxins out. Eat grilled and broiled meat the size of your palm only. No seconds. No hot dogs or fast food. None. Maybe a grilled chicken sandwich on occasion. They make that stuff to be addicting to you. After a month or two you won't even crave it. I wish you luck. Good luck baby boy. Stay strong and make good decisions for you. Please.

That's normal for some people. At that age, your body is changing, so there may seem like things are not working right. Some people have bowel movements only once a week. Don't get to concerned. And I don't think that has anything to do with being fat. Bloating is another story, but that's temporary.

Hi. Try and drink 6-8 glasses of water everyday - 2 before each meal
Eat lots of fruit and raw veggies
Eat oatmeal, whole wheat bread
This should help and eating a little healthy might help with the weight a bit too
Cheers

Nothing is wrong with your digestive system. I would recommend taking in more fiber, lots of fruits, veggies, and whole grain cereals. While constipation can cause bloating, it won't make you fat. Both the weight and constipation are symptoms of poor diet, talk to your parents about eating healthy in the home or you will continue to experience health problems.

Sounds like you don't consume a healthy, well balanced diet. Try eating fresh veggies (loaded with fiber), whole grains, fruits, and lean proteins. When you are eating well, your body is functioning well. And don't forget to get at least 30 minutes a day of exercise. Otherwise, consult a physician.

I dont think that your bowels funtioning incorrectly will cause you to gain weight..

but yes i believe it sounds like constipation or you are not eating much.

when i was on a water fast after 7 days of it i didnt go to the toilet at all apart from urinating..may have the same sort of effect if you are eating very little not too sure.

see a doctor definatly, tell your parents.

It can cause problems if left untreated
