why can't we respect each other as Americans, no matter if you are black, hipanic, white, white hispanic, black hispanic, Native... if we are all Americans, U.S Citizens.. why is there so much hate lately????

Started with the invading Euros’, with their thinking that when you get them down keep them down. There plan was a, we are superior and the proof is the abuse they provided that is titled racism. Well it rubbed off and now it's not just a conquering hero's mind set anymore. Same as any virus it spreads. It has added up to a divide and conquers policy that keeps a power structure from developing by the races. Instead of working it now is out of control to the point of being the down fall of America itself. Down to the same ole story, what you put around comes around

This is a very good question- unfortunately it is one that I can't honestly answer. In my opinion it's just ignorance and as you said, hate.
A lot of times people fear what they do not know, and respond to that fear by showing hate/racism. Other times it's just because of their surroundings and/or upbringing. I really don't think racism will ever completely go away in America...although it WOULD be nice.
Some people say that if we all just had mixed babies/relationships it would end it, but even that isn't true. Then it would be the black/whites against the white/latinos, etc. Very sad, but true.

I don't think it's a recent trend by any means. People are just starting to take notice because of the high profile incidents that have occured. I really doubt it's just Americans who are racist. All people are racist in some way. Even pretending one is color blinded and not racist is a cop out. Our society especially is inherently racist, though we try to be nice and respectful sometimes our true colors show.
