I don't know the name of the fish but its small (1inch). It is orange on colour with black stripes runing down the lenth of its body. It just started to get like this a couple of days ago. The fish is just swimming by the heater and some times on the bottom. It will still eat but it is not as active as it used to be.

no venice girl its a different fish. And I olny feed my fish once a day. And I put in only a small amount of food.

Could be feeding it too much. It also might be internal parasites. If it bloated and not eating, it is internal parasites.

It could be something simple and it could be something worse depending on if there are more symptoms than this. Let's just go for bloated for now. Bloated fish are just like when humans get bloated. We eat too much. You may have fed it too much and it may be constipated. Fast it for three days and then feed it boiled fresh or thawed frozen peas with the shells removed and mash a little so it can eat the peas. Do this for several days. This relieves, or should relieve constipation. Then again, it could be a pregnant female. Is this the fish?

it sounds like it is a tiger barb....
maybe it is over eating.
