Since cultural development such as medicine and hygeine results in genetic diseases not being eliminated from gene pool. one of the proposed answer to this is eugenics. eg genetic counseling, genetic engineering, germinal selection (like a sperm bank), or cloning. whats your opinion on this issue?

Makes sense.

Asimov once wrote a book about an intelligent society that collapsed when eugenics went too far. Seriously, if we go down that road we do need to be a tad careful. Also there are civil liberties and balances of power questions - who decides whose sperm is selected and who brings up who's children, but personally I think eugenics is ethical in principle.

I don't believe that it will work in any sense.

We, as humans, cannot eliminate deviations from the gene pool.

We have survived a s long as we have because of these deviations cropping up.

Perfection is unattainable. Imperfections lead to enhancements.
