Chantix is a very effective new smoking cessation drug that just came on the market. People have used it to stop smoking with minimal side effects. No, no experience with Chantix, but if you want to try something else, this is completely non-prescription and inexpensive. It will take a little time and a little "will power" as well:
From a pharmacy, get yourself some oil of wintergreen.
From the groceries aisle, get yourself some whole cloves (sold where the spices are)
Now begin your morning as usual and as soon as the urge to light up comes, chew on a whole clove; it'll leave a taste in your mouth.
Once you've chewed up the clove, open the bottle of wintergreen and _smell it_ until the urge to smoke is gone. Don't drink it!!!
Repeat these two steps each time you feel the urge to light up.
The urge should subside day by day. How long it takes you to quit altogether is an unknown since each body works differently.
It's a good idea to keep a journal of how long it takes to get good control over your nicotine urges.
Wish you good luck.

All drugs have side effects that destroy various (vital...) organs. This is the truth, and it will never change, so long as people continue to pour synthetics into their bodies to force-fix problems.

Look for a natural remedy before using something that damages your body MORE than smoking even 3 packs of Marlboro *News-Paper rolls a day. (*Inside joke.)

Bananas, chewing gum, flavored toothpicks/chewing sticks, and safer smokeables are all ways to bring yourself down from where you are now. Drinking more water helps a lot, too.

If you're considering drugging your body to quit something that's not even hald as damaging as the proposed substance, you have many more problems to worry about than smoking.

My advice: Sit down and have a smoke, think about life, and then just stop smoking. While you're at it, stop eating junk food and dump the drugs as well; You'll be better for it.

WILL POWER is key!
