My 2 month old son often sits and stare like he is in deep thought. At times, I will notice that he is smiling while in deep thought. I was just wondering.

Your 2month old is CONSTANTLY processing information....they process much more now as we do as adluts.
If he is staring at somthing or and object, hes most likely trying to comprehend what it could be. At 2 months, for an example, they have no idea what a wall is, so they migh sit and stare at the wall, trying to process...what is this, why is it there, can i touch it, does it move?
He is every moment processing the world around Him. The things that seem so simplistic to you are a complexed thought process to your lil baby boy. Everything right now is new and hes learning every day.

Sometimes its normal. It is said that Babies see Angels. They can easily stare at something and you have no idea what they are doing. This is something normal that they do. Remember, they are starting to explore the world around them and everyday there is something different and new. If you are worried about it you can give her a check up but Im sure nothing is wrong with your baby.

I think they probably do. They get REM in the womb, so why not daydream outside. Sounds logical.

I hope so. I would like to think that our minds are capable of doing that at such a young age. He's practicing his little memory already! I think that's so cute....

they say when an infant is that small and smile all of a sudden, for no apparent reason it is becasue gas. lol but if you want you can think he is day dreaming
