My long term boyfriend has a little over a week left before he gets shipped off to boot camp for the Army, which will inevitably engulf four years of our lives. I want to do something that he'll never forget on one of our last few nights together, but have very little money to do this with. I need suggestions, preferably out of the ordinary dinner and a movie. Thanks a lot!

Make him a scrapbook with photos of you and you both together, maybe even doing a timeline of your relationship highlighting some special events and even "ordinary" days. Include mementos such as movie ticket stubs or whatever from the time you spent together. On every few pages, write a reason why you love him or what you love about him. Anything goes! Write a poem on a page, draw a picture, whatever reflects your feelings for him. Present this to him during your special evening, and he can take it with him. Oh, spray some fabric with your perfume, put it in a Ziplock and include it in the book. And be sure to add blank pages so he can add your letters and photos that you send to him.

My heart goes out to you both. Best of luck. And give him my regards - we're all grateful for his service!

Plan time together that both recalls memories of enjoyable things you've done together as well as creates a memorable night of its own. For instance, if your first date was at a concert, play that band's cd while you eat a home-cooked dinner. Or, if the first time you told him you loved him you at a particular place close to where you'll be, take him back there as part of the date and tell him how much you love him and how you'll continue to adore him while he's gone. Take pictures during the night, of you two having fun, and then a week later, send the photos along with one of your letters so he'll have something to remind him when he's homesick for you.

Cook a nice meal at home (recipes for whatever can be gotten off the internet), then lead him to the bathroom and run a nice hot bubble bath for the two of you with candles and a few drinks, after the two of you are good and pruny, make a dash to the bedroom and make love, then fall asleep in his arms.

Spray your perfume all over a few things of his (preferably socks since thats going to be one of the few things he can keep when hes in basic), then send him a letter with your purfume all over it reminding him about it a few weeks later! Trust me he will need the boost, and the reminder of that is just the trick! Besides you should write him as often as you can. Having been to boot camp myself, i know that mail call is one of the few things you have to look forward to. That and make future plans while hes in basic... rather than before, thats something else that will help him thru it!

Trust me, the army life isnt that bad :)

If it's warm out where you live, pack an easy-to-eat dinner with sparkling cider and wine glasses in a picnic basket with a blanket or two. Drive somewhere on a clear night where there's a lot of open land, on a hill or mountain if you can. Spread out your dinner and dine under the stars. Afterwords, you can cuddle up and gaze at the stars. If you're any good at poetry or art, make something for him to take with him to remember you bye.

A romantic evening would be dinner by candlelight on a balcony with the ocean sounds in the background. It must include chocolate and strawberries too along with a bottle or two of wine.

well, im not sure what state you live in, but im sure there has to be some beautiful site seeing around... even if its in another state close by, a couple hours worth of driving, you both can take a road trip together, for the day if you dont have the money to spend on the hotel, and have a picnic by that beautiful scenery and just cuddle in each others arms...

I would still do the dinner, just take it to his favorite place and have dinner there and make CD of all the songs that remind you of him and play it during dinner then tell him its for him to remember you. Then you write him a really long letter telling him how you feel about him.

get a movie and it should have a love movie.. LIKE THE NOTEBOOK..
