Without the respitory system there would be no oxygen for the circulatory system to distribute to the body.

Deoxygenated blood (filled with waste CO2 for disposal) leaves the heart through the pulmonary artery, which enters the lungs. At the alveoli level (air sacks) of the lungs the capillaries from the pulmonary artery run up against the alveolar sacs. CO2 is exchanged from the capillary to the lung, O2 is transferred from the lung to the capillary. The CO2 in the lung is breathed out and fresh O2 brought in for the next exchange. Meanwhile, the capillary now turns into the pulmonary vein which returns the oxygenated blood to the heart. The heart pumps the oxygenated blood to the tissue via the aorta and returns the used deoxygenated blood via the vena cava. The deoxygenated blood then enters the pulmonary artery to the lungs, ad infinitum.

Yes. It provides oxygen to the organs of the digestive system and eliminates the CO2 that the organs produce.

Your respiratory system had better work with your circulatory system, or you'd be dead. You need to continue getting oxygen into your blood in order to live.
