yeah.
i like this guy that i've know most of my life and he's like my best friend.
i adore him.
but he's 13 years older than me.
he doesn't know it or anything like that and i don't intend to tell him or anything like that until i'm not considered jailbait.
we seem to flirt with each other alot, he's really close to my family and everything.
what should i do between now and the time i'm 18?

GO AFTER THE MAN! I was jail bait when I met my husband (who is 15 years older than I am by the way). We met just after I turned seventeen through mutual friends. I told him that I liked him very much and that I wanted to start dating. At first he said that there was no way he'd date jail bait. After a little persuasion I convinced him to start seeing me with the promise that we keep it a secret. It was hard for that 10 month stretch but five years and a marriage later I must say that it was all worth it. Also, I'm pretty sure you can only get a man into trouble if it can be absolutely proven that you've had sexual contact. If there's no evidence, then there's no trouble. (I'd look into this more to be sure that this is how it all works in your state- I could be wrong)

If I hadn't gone after my husband who knows where I'd be today. If I had taken his "no" for an answer or waited, I wouldn't have the life that I love! Most of the time people who date men who are older get screwed over and have a bad experience- but then there are those few who do find someone they really are compatible with and have a great love!

Just for the record- I'm not some dumb girl who is being used. I graduated 4th in my class from HS and continued on to college. I now own my own business and am very, very happily married.

If you want more details, feel free to e-mail me at erhjunk@yahoo.com. I'd love to be able to help you out more but I'd need to know more about your situation.

Keep dreaming, but date guys your own age, or only slightly older. Age difference is HUGE at your apparent ages.

If it's meant to work out, then when you're 25 and he's 38, the difference won't seem so huge. In the meantime, he's not expecting you to "wait for him", so don't miss out on life.

Having been in relationships in both directions with differences of 11-21 years, I know whereof I speak....

If you're UNDER 18.. (and assuming so by your ?)... you need to not concern yourself with someone over 30. If this person over 30 is interested in someone under 18, there is some serious questioning as to their motives, their maturity, and true compatibility. "like" cannot be substituted for a real relationship.

Too much of a difference. But, you don't really care what we think, do you?

Go out with other guys (your age) and test the waters. right now it's just a crush you don't want to do anything you'll both regret.

It sounds like you are really young ,and I think you need to concentrate more on your studies and less on guys as that will come in due time.Don't rush life ,it goes fast enough as it is.
