Who says we're not trying to look like black people? What an ignorant question. Tanning is just tanning. It is not an effort to look like any other person. I personally don't tan anymore because I think it is bad for your skin. But when I did it never entered my head that I was trying to look like anyone but myself.

You can't really generalize it and say "us Latinos" because most of them aren't going for a race-specified look. They think the tanned look is trendy and healthier looking.

Yeah I'm tired of white chicks walking around looking orange colored. So whack, they don't look healthy. They end up looking unnatural and weird.
