I have an 1898 dime. Does anyone know it's value? It is very worn.

Very worn condition narrows us down to About Good, Good and Very Good grades, the bottom grades in coin grading and coins that fall in these grades are not considered collectable unless in cases of rarity. An 1898 Barber Dime(the popular name for it) has a book value of $3-$4 for Good-V.Good, an 1898-O(with an "O" underneath the wreath) is $14-$30 in Good-V.Good, and an 1898-S(with an "S" underneath the wreath) valued at $8-$17 for Good-V.Good grades.

"Good" grade for this type of dime means that the coin has a heavily worn design with very little detail remaining. The legend is weak but visible. The word Liberty on headband is worn away. The wreath is worn flat but is completely outlined. The corn and grains are worn nearly smooth.
"Very Good" grade shows the entire head weak and most of the details in the face are worn smooth. Three letters in the word Liberty are visible, and the wreath shows a small amount of detail. The corn and grain are flat.
