I live in the Netherlands, and it has been this way since around the year 2001.

Life is quite lovely in the Netherlands :)

Most of we Americans live in the Dark Ages when it comes to sexuality in general. It seems even straight people are afraid to talk about sex in an open and honest manner. I wish all people would look at sex as a good thing no matter who their partner is.

it is also legal in the UK, its called a "civil partnership". however, not all rights are available to couples but i strongly believe it is because this is still a new frontier to the law makers and think they would fine-tune it along the way.

governments will eventually legalize gay marriages because there are so many of us out there! and they realize that it wont be fair to deny us of our rights to be married to the person that we choose! (and also i secretly think that they want to win elections so they will dance to our tune eventually)

the world in whole will be quite lovely, depending on the rate of change and how pro-active governments are!

:)

Thank god there are some places in the world who have managed to keep religious dogma out of their laws and allow people to live in a TRULY free country.

That is just dandy. Did you know that America has been broadcasting bowling matches on national television for over 30 years? Fascinating, just fascinating.

My place is that it is going to no longer be as much as the government. enable the government situation civil unions or family contributors partnerships or notwithstanding for heterosexual and gay couples, and leave "marriage" as a subjective label.

Unfortunately Americans aren't ready for that. We should be though. It's 2007 already, not 1907.

I did not know that but I am also very jealous of you. Congratulations to your country for their open minded lawmakers and people.

If life is so "lovely" in the Netherlands, then why are more people emigrating than immigrating:
