Anybody should be allowed to believe whatever nonsense they want. Why get down on one group of fools for convincing another group of fools that THEIR foolishness is correct while the other isn't? The only problem I have with Christianity or any other religion is that the people who believe in them are ruining humanity.

The proselytising religions claim proselytisation as their basic religious freedom. Some other religion claims that committing a murder of a person, under certain circumstances, is part of their fundamental religious belief. Can both be countenanced in a civilised society. Hindu society has been subjected to both these evils from historical period. It is a wonder that it has survived both these evils. Conversion for any personal reason of conviction is permissible. That will take place at the individual level. The reason for conversion at a large scale cannot be religious. There must be some social and economic compulsion behind. There will be no palpable evidence of coercion in all these matter. The attraction that brings a drove of people to their religion, is money and so many other false promises. This is as despicable as jihad itself.

It is okay, if religious conversion is done on ones own volition; otherwise it is inhuman and brutal even to think of inducing anyone to convert to their 'pet' religion. It is nothing but fanaticism that cannot be accepted in any standard. One should be allowed to practise whichever religion that he or she opts or has faith.
Infact, religion is man made. One should think that everyone in this world is the creation of the formless divine power which should be realised by individual prayer or meditation of ones choice rather than adoting to some religion like christianity or hinduism or muslim and whatever.
Day is not far to realise this 'TRUTH'.

religious conversions why not?after all we are living in a sovereign country and each and everyone has the right to follow the religion which he prefers it is not about christians converting hindus or sikh it is about religious freedom which has been guaranteed by our constitution
our country has always been marred by religious violence be it the babri masjid case or the killing of graham stain it is high time we people understood the importance of the rights which have been guaranteed by the constitution each and every person has the right to practice the religion which he wants and no one can stop him from doing this

I think if people switch to another religion on their own it is perfectly fine as they seem to find some better or finer points in that particular religion which appeals to them . But conversion done by luring people with money or a better job or some kind of favours is totally wrong as people do not know what they are getting into..As far as i am concerned "RELIGION is the OPIUM of the MASSES"

Conversion is not right. The very basis of religious scriptures does not allow one to do that. Only people without a broader sense of the Almighty go in for this conversion. God is one, Omnipresent. He is the same in me and you. When we are born we do not know anything, it is only through our parents or guardians we take to a particular religion and that will always stay in our mind. No level of conversion can erase it.

Conversions with ones own choice and will is perfectly justified. However a lot of missionarries encourage forceful conversion. They would offer money to the poor and promise a hell lot of benefits if they are converted. And you cannot cliam that these offerings are acts of charity. Charity doesn't ask anything in return, but these missionarries ask you to give up your ethics and embrace theirs. If they really wanna show somew charity, make those offerrings without such terms.

If there is a TRUST in the God of an existing religion to which a person is born into, then such person also should have faith in the GREATER wisdom of that God to stay on to the same religion, find a better preacher, guide, helper or whatever, and seek the God, enlightenment, joy, solace, peace or what ever !

No not at all. We should not support religious conversions.
If God wanted you to be a Christian, you would have born in a Christian family and so on.
Who the hell are we to Force, Pamper or Pay people to convert the religion.

What is religion.....is it a set of rules which you have to follow or is it an ideology? Just by saying "yes", i can never say that i follow the religion. Development is "when people have decision making powers". Until and unless one is not forced..conversion is not a problem.
