i am a fan and i always want my team to go to the world series.........i know they were not that good last year but they were still in the hunt for a playoff spot towards the end of the year...i think they have a chance for the playoffs if everyone can produce, they made some changes and if ray durham and barry can stay healthy they have a chance and i have always like ryan kelso from his brave's days .......they have young talented pitchers so if they can produce i see the playoffs in our reach......and maybe get hot like st louis and make it to the world series

Unless they make a great trade, they arent going too far. They wont finish last. The Rockies will as they always do. But i dont see them winning the west. The padres will teke it with the dodgers close behind them. If ray durham can produce, and cain and lowry can have good years as well as zito they have a chance to make playoffs. I dont see barry doing too much, but he'll probly hit like 20-25 hrs and have a fair amount of rbis. they need to start running and the addition of dave roberts ought to help with that. i dont know what they were thinking signing klesko, but whatever. and sweeny should be the starting first baseman, not Aurillia. if sweeny got a fair amount of at bats this year, he could do somethink. forget about neikro. drop him to the minors and leave him there! oh, by the way, the accardo for hillenbrand trade was pretty stupid. they didnt even re sign him!

Come October the Giants will be watching the playoffs on their multiple flat screen TV's. Zito is an overpaid/overrated pitcher, their lineup stinks, their bullpen stinks, and Bonds is as big of a distraction a team could have. Nobody brings in the media circus like the enema called Barry Bonds. The Giants had their chance a few years ago and couldn't get it done against the Angels, that was their chance and it is gone.

Dan Haren is the greater desirable useful pitcher precise now. he's a valid extensive variety a million starter and must be the cornerstone of any rotation outdoors of Arizona. besides, he has 3 years left on his settlement at approximately $20 million making him a lot jointly as while in comparison with diverse pitchers putting up comparable stats. Cain has sturdy stuff and ought to strengthen yet does no longer have the command like Haren. Plus, the Giants try to their #a million prospect Tim Linceum to be the ace of their rotation indoors the destiny.

Last place with the Padres!
The west is so pathetic!
I am wondering why they gave up Schmidt to the Dodgers. What a gift to LA and their team!
I saw the Giants lineup and it looks horrible on paper!

News flash the Giants are over the hill and the only good defensive regular is Omar Vizquel, maybe if the pitchers only give up ground balls and every fly ball is hit right at a fielder they might have a chance.

They are not great they are average. They did make a great mistake signing Bonds though. Why did they not spend that money for help for the team? Poorest front office in baseball worse than Baltimore's equal to the Nationals.

If Colorado shows up the Giants will finish in 3rd place. If not they have as good chance of finishing second as anybody.
The Dodgers being the favorites to win the division of course.

I'm a Giants fan, but I have to be realistic. They're going to battle the Rockies for last place. Their lineup is way too old and their bullpen too questionable for them to contend.
They'll bring in some revenue this year because of Bonds' homerun chase, but after this season they need to suck it up and start rebuilding.
