I often believe that the society is over reactive and would even make a little thing look big as an elephant. So I was wondering, how can I tell if someone is homosexual? Just because a guy hugs another guy doesn't actually make him GAY. right?

You are right. Don't worry about whether or not your friend is homosexual until his actions begin to feel uncomfortable to you. At that point, you need to have an honest chat with him to find out what his motives are.

A guy hugging another guy does not make either of them gay. What makes a person gay is their attraction to the same sex, not a simple gesture like a hug

Right, guy on guy hugging does not mean they are gay...now kissing is a different story. There is really no rule of thumb on how to tell...just ask them or if your too uncomfortable asking, make a remark to him like "oh that guy has a nice behind" and see what he says

Homosexuality is loving those of the same gender. Rosie O'Donnell, I realize that a lot of people don't like her, but on her show once, many years ago, she said that her son said gay people are like the magnetic toy trains that will only stick to each other and don't stick to the others. (A kind of cute analogy....) But, to me, being gay is the same as being straight. I just can't see myself with a guy.

Homosexuality is correctly defined by whether or not the person is attracted to the opposite sex. If they are, they are not homosexuals, even if they occasionally are extremely friendly in same sex encounters. That's what friends are for.

No, hugs do not make someone gay! There are many people who you would not even are gay. You also could try discretely asking, I wouldn't be offended.

I was in the mall with one of my friends and we held hands and one girl points at us because she thought we were gay. I just don't understand this. In my country we do that all the time but here I'm even afraid to hold my brother's hand.
