Just finished reading Donaldson's Gap Cycle and enjoyed it immensely. Should I read his others? Or (read on)

..does anyone have suggestions of a similarly constructed story that I might enjoy? This is the only series by Stephen Donaldson that I've read thus far, but I particularly enjoyed the intricate characterizations, the intrigue and the epic nature (conscious nods to Wagner's "Ring Cycle.") I enjoyed the conceptual sci-fi aspects and the ambiguous morality of the characters. It is hard to pick favorites, but I'd have to say the characters I most enjoyed were the UMCP bunch, Warden Dios, Min Donner, Hashi Lebwohl...Angus was lots of fun, too! Based on this information, what would be the most rewarding book I could turn to next (one-off or series?)

Yes, his Thomas Covenant books are something else. I'd also recommends Titus Groan and Gormenghst, two books by Mervyn Peake.
