Me and my fiance have been together for 4 years, we're planning on getting married this month before he goes to Iraq, Things are great, except when the inlaws are mentioned, (his side) but anyways, they do NOT want for us to be together at all, they actually went to our home, broke down doors, and assaulted my sister to try and get him to leave me and move back in with them, in the end of all that, he told the police to let them know he was staying with me, no charges were pressed on either side, but I am just so mad about that still, he asked me to forgive them, but I dont want to, I am angry with him because he has, the day RIGHT AFTER the incident, its been 3 months now, I am tired of him dropping things we've planned to go and see them, he says theyre his parents but I believe that he isnt ready to get married until he gets it that hes grown, as well as them, and that once a month going to see them is okay, not 3 days out of the week or more its like they are still in my life!!!

When you marry someone, you get the whole package. In other words, you get his family. His behavior probably won't change, so if you don't like dropping everything to see his parents three times a week, consider carefully if you want to marry this man. They may be his parents, but they assaulted your sister! She should have pressed charges. You're going to have to decide if you love him enough to deal with all of this, or if it's time to cut your losses and move on.

Make sure he puts you first ahead of the inlaws. If not you may be putting up with their crap forever.
