what is the U.S territory expansion about and what happened , and why did it start?

US territory expansion is a term used as the US started to expand. First the states and the territories and boundaries were expanded, shortened and changed...the US expanded to different continents or countries and tried to establish and successfully established US colonies. the reason behind goes back to Manifest Destiny: how the US states kept on pushing the boundaries and for what? the answer: power, wealth and prosperity as well as enlarging the US and its inhabitants with all new colonizations or the colonies taken under US rule/oder and it gave the US more power making it more powerful.
