When you turn on the hot or cold water in your house, why does the house vibrate and sound like a air compressor? what can be the cause for it?

If I had to guess, I'd say it's your well pump kicking on. Sounds like you may have a very old style pump.

Have someone turn the water on, trace the source of the noise that sounds like an air compressor. I'm guessing when you find it, either in the basement, crawl space, or maybe even in a closet. You will find something that closely resembles an air compressor but isn't. This is your well pump, most pumps today are installed in the well casing itself. Back in the old days the pumps were installed in the house. It is probably belt driven, has an electric motor and it should be attached to a tank. The size will vary.

you have air in your pipes and you can buy a air chamber to be put on water supply line that will stop the noise

Your Plumbing pipes are loose from the joists!! You need to anchor them with hangers or cushion them with rubber!! This will solve your problem!!
