I haven't, but I would really like to. I love it when the mainstream media puts out a great movie about gays that isn't discriminating. I appreciate all the people that made it a hit.

Saw Brokeback Mountain twice, and thought it was one of Ang Lee's better movies. I personally think Ang Lee is one of the best Directors around, if you don't count the Hulk, and was glad that he at least got the Oscar for best director. Thought the movie was wonderful, moving and didn't find the "sexuality" of it a major point as a positive or negative. It was just a part of the love story. Two men, so what. To me was no different then some of the old movies where there were star crossed lovers that just couldn't be.
I am straight- very happily married. Will say that my husband has not seen the movie, but we did tape it off of TIVo, and he did say he would watch it as Iiked it so much.

I didn't care for it very much...
There were some parts of the movie that were great (mostly towards the beginning when life is good, and they haven't had their secret discovered), but the overall screenplay seemed a little dry. I can see how this movie was seen as controversial as there were a lot of references of homosexuals being inferior (mainly by employers). I saw a lot of hurt feelings through out the film (esp. when the wife found out they weren't fishing and put 2 and 2 together...). topped off with a totally uncalled for murder using a hubcap (?) or other large metallic object that launched the second main character into a shocked mourning state until the end of the film.
It painted a picture about the lack of acceptance and generalized fear one would expect from the unaccepting straight locals who haven't had exposure to homosexuality and have failed to realize the feelings and lives of the involved.

Straight, I guess, been so long I forgot.
But, I was bored with "Brokeback Mountain". Is was so slow and plodding. All the characters kept doing was "go up the mountain, go down the mountain, upset this wife, upset that wife, go up the mountain, go down the mountain, pick up a boy in a Mexican border town, go up the mountain, go down the mountain." Thought it was greatly overrated.

I did watch it..I am straight,, I thought it was a gay love story. Two men who loved each other , couldn't come out and say so to the public..So they did what people call a normal life thing and married , had kids but never stopped loving each other..They lived a lie because it was the easy way... I didn't think it was a bad movie.

i am gay, watched it, it sucked (not in a good way)
i feel the only reason this movie even got an award is because it has 2 mainstream actors in gay leads. THERE ARE TONS of GLBT movies out there that are WAY better than that piece of ***.
Dorian blues, Latterdays, A home at the end of the world are but a few.

I saw the movie. I am straight. I found the movie to be very sad. The two main characters ended up being hurt because they could not be together, and the thing keeping them apart was the prejudice of others. In the end, families were destroyed and one of them was killed all because of the narrowmindedness of others.

I'm straight. I thought the movie was sad. I also thought that people should get over the fact that they are having gay sex and realize it for the forbidden love story that it is. Everyone gets so caught up on the fact of sex and they forget about being gay is not only about who you have sex with. Its also about who you love. More power to ya...love whoever you want.

I thought the movie was very tastefully done. People are uncomfortable with it because society refuses to open their minds. I'm a married heterosexual, and had no issues with the events in the movie.
