Don't get a monkey! They are noisy, pee on you, bite and smell bad and need to be fed a certain diet. You'd be much better off with a dog or cat.

This depends on you and what your willing to do for your monkey and why you want one. If you want one because you think it would be cool, then DO NOT GET ONE. If you are set up to raise a monkey then spiders are very good.
Having the right stuff is very important. For example depending on where you live you need to have a heated building. You need a large outside cage ( 13 foot wide, 24 feet long, 12 feet tall. Inside the cage you need pleanty of things for them to climb on and play with.
As a general rule we don't sale monkeys to individuals because there is a lot more to a monkey than dressing it up and thinking it is going to be like a dog or cat.
I have been raising monkey for a long time now and have a lot of experience with them.
Another important thing is to check with all your vets around you and see if they work on Monkeys. If they do not then you don't want one. Most vets will not work on Monkeys and this leaves all the doctoring up to you.

If its a secure species then you definately choose a particular license, or you purely choose a particular license. To get the licence you need to teach to DEFRA which you recognize the thank you to maintain the species, have appropriate accomodation etc. you are able to bypass to their internet site for further info. Spider monkeys are arboreal, so except you reside interior the treetops or have nailed scramble netting to all your ceilings you likely is purely no longer allowed to maintain one. Plus while it turns into an person that's going to decide to mate with you so stable success with that...

Probably a pain in the butt. I'm sure they can be fun, loving animals but, such a big responsibility. Also, it is a very long commitment. LOTS of homework would need to be done first and speak with people who have a lot of experience with them.

One good way to find out is to get a job as a zookeeper and work in the monkey exhibit.

I had a friend with one and what a disaster this was! Be prepared for flinging doo, for real they do this, amongst other disgusting habits. Monkeys are best left to zoos and wild habitats!
