I have one of the 300 ounce detergent bottles that I refill with the 100 ounce ones. It takes up less space, and I agree with you... it's cheaper to buy 3 of the 100 ounces rather than 1 of the 300 ounce ones!!! So I just keep refilling the one that I have.

Some are and some are not

Some people always believe that buying in bulk is always the better price, so they buy big without checking the per unit price. A sneaky way to squeeze out a profit

But if it works...good for them.

Depends. Is one scented, or have bleach or softening features?

Probably though, it is because people have been preconditioned to expect that the larger container will be cheaper per unit and will buy it without checking if that is in fact the case.

because a lot of people do not look at the unit price they just assume it is cheaper to buy a larger package

beacuse the stores are trying to rip you off. always look at the unit price. sometimes the difference is great and sometimes it's not but clearly, bigger is not always better
