Baseball is the only sport where the defense DOES control the ball!

Well actually, the team that controls the ball is on defense. The team that doesn't have the ball is on offense trying to hit the ball that the defense controls. So the answer is Offense...or you can say The Team up to Bat.
Looking more closely at the question....Why are you asking about "basketball" in a "baseball" category???

In basket ball as well as most every other sport the team without the ball is the defense. In baseball the team without the ball is the offense. One of the things that makes baseball a uniquie and great sport.
