We go to college in PA, and he works two hours from our school, so when he comes to visit her, we all hang out. He and I have gotten closer lately, but I have never made it a point to flirt with him, and have never really expressed an interest in dating him.

You should tell your friend her boyfriend is a little assshole. You shouldn't take this lightly and you should NOT go out with him.

He's indirectly trying to see if you'll date him. He might just want a little sumthin sumthin on the side if you catch my drift, and thinks you are convenient.
Of course, he's a scumbag.....
The best thing would probably be to confront him directly about it and let your friend know. I'm a wuss, so I would probably keep an eye on him, have a heart to heart with the friend and try to clue her in. Kicking him when he's not looking is always fun too!

I would ask him if he is serious and if he is tell him to go fly a kite because that would be a lousy thing to do to your friend.
