well cingular bought the exclusive right to the i-phone for 3 years
this is going to give us the release of the phone in early june and a second version early july. even after the 3 yr exclusive i think apple is saying they are only going to offer the phone to GSM networks so verizon and sprint will never get it thats mainly because the rest of the world only uses GSM verizon never had a choice to consider it at all hope that helps good luck

Currently the iphone is only available to Cingular Wireless (which is now known as the New A T&T) starting the middle of June 2007. No other phone carrier has the rights to sell the Apple Iphone except Cingular. We will have to wait and see just how the competition will be when the iphone rolls out.

honestly. you dont want the iphone the first go around. getting new technology without all of the clicks worked out is not a really good idea. i worked for verizon when they released the NEW razor V3M and it was the worst thing ever. because all of the data services (vcast, vcast music, get it now) didnt work. and it took about 2-4 weeks before they did, and alot of the phones were recalled. Verizon isnt going to get in on the iPhone shindig until they know that its a quality product.
i would say within a year to a year and half they will have it.

I heard rumors that the iPhone will eventually become compatible with all the carriers, just like the RAZR. I'm going to start a website that is all things iPhone, www.iPhoneHelpers.com, so stop by there once I get it up and running and I'll post all the news I can find for the iPhone.

actually no longer. AT&T operates on a GSM/side/UMTS community mutually as VERIZON on the spot operates on a CDMA community. The iPhone is a GSM/side/UMTS telephone which does no longer artwork on CDMA networks, era. Sorry.
